AvP is the first collaborative EP by Bladee and Thaiboy Digital, released on December 9, 2016 via YEAR0001. The EP is produced by Whitearmor, with additional production from Yung Sherman. AvP features a guest appearance from Ecco2k.
The EP features 7 tracks, with a total runtime of 19 minutes and 52 seconds.
Background
Shortly after Thaiboy Digital's deportation, Drain Gang visited Thaiboy Digital in Thailand and recorded AvP together. AvP was first announced as a project by Bladee via a Tweet in June 2015. Throughout the rest of the year, both Thaiboy Digital and Bladee would continue to promote the release of the project, though without any release window. On September 30, 2015 the single Butterfly was released, alongside a music video on YouTube. Though the song did not make the final AvP tracklist, the description of the YouTube music video featured the tags "#AvP" and "#AlienVsPredator".
Entering 2016, the promotion of the project continued on Twitter and Instagram. Thaiboy Digital announced that a music video for an AvP track Two mo was filmed. Two mo was likely the working title for 2X, a track that did make the cut on the final tracklist of AvP, although the said music video was never released to the public. In October 2016, Whitearmor announced via Twitter that AvP was nearing completion.
Release and promotion
On December 1, 2016, Thaiboy Digital announced via Twitter that AvP will release later that month, on December 9, 2016. On December 3, 2016, the only single from AvP Still in Search of Sunshine was released exclusively as a music video on YouTube. A few days later, on December 9, 2016, AvP was released.
On December 19, 2016, the AvP T-Shirt was released; the only piece of merchandise related to this project.
